Dear fellow underwater hockey players

It is my privilege to invite you all to the first official Aqua Challenge World Underwater Hockey Championships to be hosted in Durban, South Africa next year. As you should know by now the tournament will take place from 21 April to 3 May 2008 . It will be the second World Championship to be hosted in Durban in the Kings Park swimming pool. This venue is one of the top swimming facilities in the World.

The same core team that hosted the 1996 Worlds are currently working hard to make this planned tournament one for the record books, as we did in 2006.

We are busy building the official website that will develop as all information needed gets confirmed. This site will give you all info needed in the interim.

What you can look forward to and start planning for are:

• A planned shortened tournament

• Countries are welcome to enter 2 teams at elite and junior level

• Amazing pool side services including day tours from the pool complex. Day care and babysitting services. Shuttle services in and around Durban. Formal and social functions true to the festive, party , holiday culture in Durban.

• Very affordable accommodation close to the pool. A unique shopping experience at the pool with all basic needs and more.

In short, get yourselves ready for an amazing experience and at the same time playing the best game in the world against the top countries in the world.

I invite you all to come, bring as many teams as possible ,bring your family and enjoy the renowned South African hospitality .
