Please refer to all the information below for your guide on what is required from your team/country over the coming months.
Registration Requirements
Registration for Worlds will take place at Kings Park between 9am and 3pm on 22nd and 23rd April.
Please note that the following are required to register at Worlds:
* Team sign-on and team enrolment forms with cap numbers for each player
* A signed Declaration waiver form per player
* A signed Anti-Doping consent form per player
* Signed TUE forms compliant with legal requirements for each player taking
banned substances
* Valid id for each participant eg passport
Please let us know if you have emailed any of the above so we can confirm receipt.
Please also bring flags if you have been asked to do so.
If any teams are arriving after the registration period, please contact us so we cam make arrangements
1 Competition Categories
The 2008 World Underwater Hockey Championships has six categories, organised in different age and gender categories, see below.
1.1 Open Elite - This category is open to male and female players
1.2 Ladies Elite - This category is only open to female players.
1.3 Open Masters - This category is open to male and female players of qualifying age. Male players must be 35 or over on first day of the competition. Female players must be 32 or over on that day.
1.4 Ladies Masters- This category is only open to female players. Players must be 32 or over on the first day of competition.
1.5 Open U19's - This category is open to male and female players of qualifying age. The age limit is the age of the competitor on January 1 of the year of the championship. They must be under 19 on that date. The athlete can then compete in this category until December 31 of the same year.
1.6 Ladies U19's - This category is open to female players of qualifying age. The age limit is the age of the competitor on January 1 of the year of the championship. They must be under 19 on that date. The athlete can then compete in this category until December 31 of the same year.
2 Team Competition Fees
All competition fees are identical for all team categories. The team entry must be paid to the 2008 World Committee within the times given below to be valid.
2.1 You can pay your team fees via Electronic Bank Transfer.

When paying you MUST ensure you notify the 2008 worlds treasurer (George Watson) that you have paid by sending the 2008 worlds entry form and state method of payment.
2.2 Team Competition Fees are: -
i) Payment deadline of 31st December 2007 to qualify for Early payment discount: the total fee per team will be ZAR 25 100 (South African Rands).
ii) Final Payment Deadline of 11th January 2008: the total fee per team will be ZAR 27 000 (South African Rands).
The team competition fee includes all tournament costs as well as the final function.
3 Players welcome party/reception

4 Managers Team entry submission process and deadlines
All dates given in this section are the final deadline date for each item in the submission process, they cannot be exceeded. Please refer to the tournament directors guidelines "Tournament Deadlines For Participating Countries".
The team entry submission process with final deadlines for each event is listed below.
4.1 11th November 2007 - deadline for Federation Declaration Form - "Intention to Participate" to be submitted to 2008 worlds organising committee.
4.2 31st December 2008 - deadline for team competition fees early payment discount. Fee ZAR 25 100 per team. See item 2.2 i) in this section. This must be paid to the 2008 worlds organising committee as stated in item 2. above - "Team Competition Fees", the "2008 worlds entry form" must also be submitted at this time.
4.3 11th January 2008 - Final Deadline for team payment and entry to championships. Fee ZAR 25 100 per team. See item 2.2 ii) in this section. This must be paid to the 2008 worlds organising committee as stated in item 2. above - "Team Competition Fees". No Late team entry and payment after this date. The "2008 worlds entry form" must also be submitted at this time.
4.4 Deadline for swimsuit submission for approval - 21st January 2008
4.5 11th February 2008 - Deadline for players, referees, officials and volunteers profiles with digital photo of each person attached, plus submission of therapeutic exemption forms for athletes taking banned substances (e.g. for asthma). These plus additional forms can be found on the forms page.
4.6 11th March 2008 - Deadline for all travel details, accommodation details and contact details to be forwarded to the organising committee, to ensure your requirements can be met.
5 Meetings
5.1 - 24 April Training of scorekeepers and camera operators.
5.2 - 24 April pm Referees Briefing, Pizzaz van Schalwyk
5.3 - 23 April pm Referees fitness test.
5.4 - 24 April pm Captains/managers meeting.
5.5 - 24 April Rules meeting
5.5 - 29 April WAA meeting

6 Team registration
Registration will take place on 22 - 23 April 2008.
Any teams who arrive later should contact info@uwhworlds2008.net to arrange registration at a later date.
All registration will take place at the Kings Park Swimming complex. All team members must be present during the registration process with passports or South African ID documents for proof of ID.
A player cannot be registered without being present with valid ID.
7 Expected number of teams competing at 2008 UWH Championships
