I see in the World Tournament Director's report that "there will be a physio/massage area

Yes it is intended that there will be a physio service available for all to use. At present we are unable to give a cost for the service as we are still discussing the contract with the physiotherapist. Once the contract has been finalised we will confirm the costing.

Do we have to do to get our Swimmers/Bathers colours approved?

Yes, the world tournament director approves the swimming costume colours. This is done on a first in first served basis, so the earlier you get a sample to him the greater the chance of them being accepted. He can be contacted via email to arrange approval.

Will coaches be allowed in the water whilst the teams are playing to watch the games?

Yes, there will be a lane for coaches, so they will be allowed in the water to watch the games.

Is a warm up area available for teams to warm up in the water before they play?

Yes, there is a separate area for teams to warm up and down in.

Will a list of other team contact details be circulated to coaches well in advance of the competition so that warm up games can be organised across grades?

Once we receive the full list of team contacts we will circulate them to everyone, so that friendly games can be arranged in the warm up matches.

As the management representative of my country what meetings do I have to attend and what people do I have to have available for other meetings?

All the dates for meetings can be found in section 5 of the managers guide or in the tournament section in the schedule of events.

It seems there will be a lot of teams for these Worlds! I'd like to know if we have to expect to play more than two games a day, or if two games are the maximum?

At Worlds 2006, it was decided to change the maximum number of games per day to 3 to allow for a shortened tournament. So some players may play 3 games per day. This can only be finalised once all entries are in.

Are tickets for the final party included in the entry fees? If not how much are the tickets per person?

Yes. The final party is included in the entry fees.

When are teams expected to arrive?

As long as your teams arrive and register by the deadline of their final registration period that will be fine ie 24 April 2008.

When will the Masters and U19s competitions take place?

Their competition time will be run at the same time as the Elite competition, but exact dates will depend on the number of entries in those categories.

I see you ask for Passports as proof of ID, but some players may not have passports as they can travel in Europe with their National Identity Cards. Will you accept these cards as proof of ID?

You may find that your players will need to get passports, everyone travelling into South Africa will need a passport to gain entry. Please check with your travel agent.

Will you be laying on any transport-transfers from Durban Airport to the centre of Durban?

At the present time we will not be supplying a transport service. If you look at the travel section of our web site, they will help you in booking your travel arrangements once you arrive.

At what depth will the matches be played? Is the depth the same for all categories (Elite, Masters, Juniors)? Will the pitches be flat, or slightly sloped?

Both playing courts are 1.9 m deep, with no slope. All categories will play at this depth. The courts will be 12m wide and 25m long. See the pool details page for a plan of the courts.

Have you set the date yet? Where I can find them?

You can find all the dates you need either in the tournament section in the schedule of events or in the manager's section in the manager's guide. For any other dates/timings you can look at those sections mentioned.

Will there be any TV coverage of the championships?

At the pool itself we will have underwater cameras and a large screen at the pool side so you will be able to watch one of the two games being played at any time live, giving you all the surface and underwater action.

It is also hoped to get national TV coverage of the event but no details are available at present.

Will the under 19 teams attend the finals party with the elite athletes or is a separate event being planned? We envisage our youngest players will be under the legal alcohol drinking age.

Yes the Under 19s will attend the final party with all other age group players. Anyone under the age of 18 years old will not be able to buy alcohol here as this is our lower legal age limit. However they will be able to purchase soft drinks. The bar staff will not sell alcohol to anyone who they suspect are under age and can not provide proof of age.

All Under 19s will be informed that they will need to take their player ID card to the final party for proof of age.
